Association Sunday

Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations

Association Sunday

By participating in Association Sunday, we strengthen our connection and combine our resources, empowering us to Grow Our Spirit, because our religious values are needed to help heal a wounded world.

  We are better together!

"It is today that we fit ourselves for the greater usefulness of tomorrow." —W.E.B. DuBois

“M y hope is that Association Sunday will become a regular part of every congregation’s church year.”

-UUA President Bill Sinkford

Unitarian Universalist congregations are self-governing entities whose connections to one another sometimes seem tenuous. Association Sunday is envisioned as a way to acknowledge and strengthen the bonds of common purpose among congregations. The special collection taken on this Sunday offers a way to combine our resources in order to make Unitarian Universalism a stronger voice of liberal religious values in the world.

These Association Sundays enable us to have more of an influence on our country. Now Is theTime for our congregations to grow stronger and more effective together, because our religious values are needed to help heal our wounded world.

Association Sundays are a request by the UUA for all congregations to recognize and support, both spiritually and financially, the national work of the Association. Envision a day – an “Association Sunday” – during which thousands of UUs across the nation simultaneously celebrate our shared commitment to Unitarian Universalism.

Resources and information are available on the UUA Web site at http://www.uua.org/giving/associationsunday/.

ASSOCIATION SUNDAY - October 14, 2007 (or another Sunday)

We at the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations (UUA)  know our congregations can do more together than alone - we are better together, and that is why, we are organizing a series of Association Sundays. We are asking all of our congregations to schedule a Sunday service and special collection to affirm our connection, and to bring our resources together!. Read more
