Resources – Communication & Media Tools
| Clear, timely and appropriate communications are vital to congregation life!A welcoming – and up-to-date! – website is crucial for making a congregation accessible to newcomers looking to explore a congregation and Unitarian Universalism.Using electronic, internet-based communications (like email) are wonderful for sharing information about congregation life and programs – as long as appropriate courtesy and respect are used.
Mid-South District recommends that congregations have covenants and/or codes of behavior about the use of email exchanges. Email group exchanges can be judgmental and abusive and launch destructive conflict unless there is an understood code of behavior around their use. Moderated ‘announcement only’ lists are recommended, but ‘chat’ lists can be wonderful if behavior codes are honored.
Mid-South District also has email lists for information and announcements.
